How to Choose a Bone Broth Co-Packer

The best manufacturing conversation is based on operational fit, not a price per unit in isolation. Use these questions to compare processors consistently.

1. Does the facility fit the product?
Describe species, ingredients, process, claims, storage state, sales channel, and expected shelf life. Ask what falls inside and outside current capability.
2. Who supplies and owns what?
Clarify ingredient sourcing, formula ownership, packaging purchasing, label files, tooling, and unused inventory.
3. How are batches controlled?
Ask how inputs are received, identified, segregated, documented, and connected to finished lots.
4. What determines minimums?
Minimums can depend on equipment, ingredient quantities, packaging order requirements, labor, and changeovers.
5. What happens before launch?
Map discovery, feasibility, specification, samples if applicable, label review, purchasing, scheduling, production, and release.
6. What happens after production?
Confirm storage, pickup, freight, temperature control, case configuration, records, reorders, and issue escalation.
